- A number of good articles in rec.video recently discussed relative
- merits between TR71 and TR101/TR200. My impression is that the major
- difference between TR71 and TR101/200 is the video format, i.e., 8mm
- vs. Hi8. I want to know if anyone has done serious AB test comparing
- a 8mm taped program with a Hi8 taped program on the same TV. Is there
- really noticeable visual difference? I have seen a 8mm taped program
- by a TR71 and it seems to be very good. But, I am concerned with
- the fact, someone mentioned in this group, that if you copy a 8mm
- tape to a VHS or to another 8mm tape, the resultant tape quality
- will be degraded directly with the number of times you copy them.
- And, repeated copying with Hi8 should not have such a problem, as
- I read from somewhere. Is such statement valid? Is Hi8 really worth
- another extra $300?
