  26.  you can get along by English in any of those cities, no problems. In
  27. Athens everybody's real nice, and don't seem to mind at all if you speak
  28. English as goes for Amsterdam. In Rome they might be a bit reluctant,
  29. but they're friendly most of the time. Just be prepared to meet some
  30. arrogance in Paris, though..
  31.  I wouldn't call Venice easily accessed from Athens unless you go by air.
  32. Yugoslavia is closed, so if you went by car or railway you'd have to go
  33. around it, or take the ferry from Greece to Italy (usually Patras-Brindisi),
  34. and then take a day or two to get up there...
  35.  Any of these cities could be romantic, just put your mind to it.. :)
