- The problem here is that there are so many restaurants in Spain, and it's
- pretty hard to get a bad meal (at least in Catalunia). The best seafood
- restaurants are actually on the quayside in fishing harbours - if they
- are full of trawlermen off the boats, look no further. (You will be
- shocked at the high prices of seafood in Spain, however).
-
- It's still possible to get a three course meal, inclusive of wine (often
- unlimited wine !) and bread for 700 pesetas. The SO and I ate in Figueras
- at Christmas for this price. Unfortunately the salad she received was full
- of dead bugs. She had a free desert, however, and we had a free bottle of wine.
- Breakfast of coffee and a delicious cream-filled sugar-covered pastry costs
- about 200 pesetas. (And there's no better coffee than Spanish coffee).
-
- One word of warning: if you enter a tappas bar, take LOTS of cash. These
- little pre-lunch snacks taste wonderful but ruin your credit standing as
- well as your appetite for lunch. But otherwise.......
