  16. Because rain delayed the start of play on most courts today,  I don't
  17. have very many results to report.  I do have some late results but
  18. few complete scores.

  20. As this post goes out Stefan Edberg is still in action against David
  21. Prinosil, leading comfortably.

  23. A major upset today in men's doubles as the #1 seeded Woodbridge and
  24. Woodforde were defeated.  I didn't catch the name of their opponents,
  25. but the score was 6-7 7-6 6-2.
  26.  
  27. Mary Joe Fernandez received a tough test from Shi-Ting Wang, taking about
  28. two hours to defeat her despite the straight-set win.  Fernandez was down
  29. 4-1 in the second set, but reportedly at that point Wang started to tire
  30. and commit more unforced errors while Fernandez used her net game to
  31. advantage, allowing Fernandez to win the next five games and the match.  
  32. Fernandez was also down a break in the first set before coming back to
  33. win in the tie-break.
