- From Soccer International January issue: Joao Havelange says JAPAN in
- 2002 and SOUTH AFRICA in 2006 are front-runners (in his view) to host
- the next two WCs.
-
- He also said that a new rule to break ties after 90 minutes will be
- tried in Australia Youth WC '93: if teams are tied after 90 minutes
- in a knock-out phase, there will be a 30 minute SUDDEN DEATH extra
- time period. If they remain tied, they'll go to a penalty shootout.
-
- That's all.
-
- Marcello.
