Perhaps because Hogan and Flair were the two finest wrestlers of the 1980's?
Perhaps because people could never decide on who the best wrestler of the 80's was becuase Flair and Hogan worked for opposite federations and never faced each other?
Sure, Flair proved he could compete in the WWF, so IMHO he proved once and for all that he was superior to Hogan, but a big PPV match would have been spectacular.
