- Last night, the Whalers beat Montreal in the forum 6-5. Pat Verbeek
- scored the game winner with only 43 seconds remaining. As the puck
- slid along the boards, Roy went behind his goal to slow it down, only
- to find Verbeek beat him to it. Verbeek beat Roy to the front of the
- goal and slammed it home into the empty net. It was Hartford's first
- road victory since they beat the Canadiens in Montreal in late
- December. Hartford improved to 3-8 in one goal games. Yvon Corriveau
- (reacquired from San Jose), Patrick Poulin, Nick Kypreos also tallied
- for Hartford.
