- I may be because of dryness, but remember, those blades are wood. The
- grain varies from one blade to another, etc. You can't always quality test
- for a weak fault in the grain somewhere, or plan ahead for a shot in just
- the right place that will cause a break. Most of the breaks I get on my
- blades happen because of flukey things, not usually on hard slapshots
- (not that mine's a rocket or anything anyway!). I have the same problem,
- sometimes a blade will last long, other times I'll break it the second game
- I use it. I doubt there is a hard and fast rule for extending the
- lifetime of a
- blade or stick.
-
- As for the aluminum/wood debate: I like my aluminum. I don't think I
- break sticks any less often (I almost always break my wood ones at the
- blade as well, I think I've only broken one in the past 3 years at the shaft)
- with the aluminum, but the blades are cheaper than the whole stick. I
- just try to buy a bunch of blades when I find a sale on 'em.
