  21. Wwll, maybe not underrated, but definately "out of sight, out of
  22. mind."  A lot of people, when asked who the best defensemen in the
  23. league are, forget about Stevens.  Everybody thinks of Bourque, Leetch
  24. (who is over-rated, especially defensively, in my book), Iafrate, etc.,
  25. but Stevens is forgotten.  Part of this problem is that he is not
  26. flashy, and doesn't score a pantload of goals.  Also consider that he
  27. has played in Washington, St. Louis, and New Jersey, not exactly the
  28. best places to play in terms of media coverage.  Of them all, New
  29. Jersey, being in the New York metropolitan area, has the highest level
  30. of media coverage, but the Devils are the odd men out-- the Rangers get
  31. all the NY press.
