- K(> Subject: help - high shots
- K(>
- K(> I hate to rehash this question again (it was discussed a few
- K(> months ago), but I hit excessively high shots. I can't hit
- K(> a 3-iron beyond 170 yds (but it flies a mile high and almost
- K(> stops on a dime). When it is windy or when I need more distance
- K(> I am cooked. I'm still a high handicapper and try to stay away
- K(> from woods. I play the ball off the inside heel of my left foot.
- K(> I've played around with moving it futher back in my stance but
- K(> that does not seem to help. How high should a 3-iron send the
- K(> ball? I send it no less than 50 or 60 feet.
-
- I had a similar problem once upon a time. My left wrist would be
- pronated when I contacted the ball. That along with not turning thru
- the shot completely would cause me to flip my hands thru the shot.
- The result was a weak high shot. Your left wrist should be flat or
- slightly bowed out when you make contact with the ball.
-
- I hope this helps.
