- Hello everyone, I'm a very novice player in this wonderful world
- of golf. In a 18 holer, I can average about 120 (GRIN), and I would like
- to know if anyone would recommend some steps that I can do to improve (well
- jumpstart) my play to something like an 80. My basic problems are hitting
- the ball. In the earlier holes, I would hit a ball decently (I do not have
- very much power (GRIN)) and especially straight. But later on, I would usually
- hit it to the left (what do you call it? Hook?). Also I need some putting
- practice. I could usually do well in Minature Golf but lead me to a hilly
- green and I would usually miss it. Any recommendation on aiming the ball
- and how I should gauge the strength of my putt needed to at least stay near
- the green. I think I do pretty well approaching the green if I am on the
- fairway, but if I'm in the rough, how do I gauge where to hit the ball to
- approach the green well?
- From my memory, most of the score comes from long shots and putting.
- I have a limit finance, but I will be taking a golf class at college next
- quarter (we are under the quarter system, 10 weeks). Any tips and suggestion
- would be nice.
- Oh, anyone recommend any mode of transporting my golf clubs? I can
- send it by UPS, but would it be better to take it on the plane with me to
- college?
