- Sri Lanka picks 14-member squad for Sharjah triangular

- COLOMBO, Jan 26 (AFP) - Sri Lanka named a strong 14-member
- squad for their brief visit to Sharjah next month where they
- will play Pakistan and Zimbabwe in a triangular one-day series,
- cricket officials here said Tuesday.

- Skipper Arjuna Ranatunga will have the services of virtu-
- ally the entire team that played against Australia and New Zea-
- land in the one-day series here last year for the Sharjah con-
- test from February 1 to February 5, the officials said.

- The team includes two new caps, Ranatunga's younger brother
- Nishantha and batsman Dulip Samaraweera. One-day star Ruwan Kal-
- page and seamer Pramodya Wickramasinmghe will join the squad
- from South Africa.

- Both Kalpage and Wickramasinghe are currently touring South
- Africa with Sri Lanka's under-24 squad. Medium pacer Manjula
- Munasinghe will be despatched to South Africa to replace Wickra-
- masinghe.

- Sri Lanka is scheduled to play Pakistan in the opening
- match of the Sharjah tournament.
