- About 5 or 6 years ago, a guy named Alfredrick Hughes played at Loyola-Chicago,
- and developed quite a reputation for taking the shot. I believe he ended up
- on the NCAA top 10 all-time scoring list. Anyway, Sports Illustrated had a
- story about him, and they mentioned a fan who held up a sign that said, "Save
- Loyola Basketball--Shoot Alfredrick Hughes."
-
- My all-time favorite sign was a Duke product (naturally). UVa center Olden
- Polynice was brought up on honor charges for copying another student's work
- and turning it in as his own. The whole honor trial process is supposed to
- be secret, but somebody leaked it to the Washington Post. UVa played at
- Duke a few weeks later, and a sign was briefly visible: "UVa/Oldyn Polynice:
- Team Xerox."
