  17. The Billiken is the mascot of St. Louis University, and of St. Louis U. High.
  18. (Both are Jesuit schools, and are located in west central St. Louis.)
  19. It looks sort of like a pickled elf, if you can imagine that; and it's
  20. always painted up in blue.

  22. Except, of course, at certain special times...such as the occasion just
  23. about twenty years ago when SLUH's copy was kidnapped and redecorated
  24. in maroon and white, the colors of the DeSmet High Spartans (another Jesuit
  25. high school in the St. Louis area).  But then again, I wouldn't know
  26. anything about that.
