  26. Suffice it to say, not all of us are enthralled with Dick Vitale's
  27. mastery of decibels at the expense of data.  We tend to prefer hearing 
  28. more substance than hype in our basketball analyses.

  30. If more announcers were like Vitale, there would be a LOT of people in
  31. this country who would either:

  33. a) turn off the TV sound, and try to find a radio commentator who was
  34.    doing the game (or watch in silence), or
  35.  
  36. b) find other sports to watch (tennis, anyone?).
