- Well, it's amazing what a difference a week makes. After I praise Arkansas
- and LSU and banish Auburn, now Auburn has revived and is once again a threat.
- I misspoke last week when I said LSU beat Auburn at Auburn. Upon further
- review, my "Dick Vitale" conf. schedules says the game was at LSU. Anyway,
- here are the "Real standings" of the SEC as of today.
-
- West East
- Losses (Rd. wins - Hm. Losses) Losses (Rw-HL)
- LSU 2 +1 Kentucky 1 +3
- Auburn 3 +1 Florida 2 +2
- Arkansas 2 +0 Vandy 1 +0
-
- Thus, you can see that the West is still a dog fight, with Auburn playing
- better and Arkansas in a mini-slump, while in the East, Kentucky has already
- picked up 3 road wins, and Vandy still has to prove they belong.
-
- KEY GAMES THIS WEEK
- Jan. 27 Vandy at UT, Auburn at Alabama, and Arkansas at MIss. St.
- Jan. 30 Florida at Kentucky, Vandy at Auburn
-
- This week will show whether either Vandy or Florida has what it takes to
- challenge Kentucky in the East, while in the West, more jousting for position
- will occur.
-
- I don't consider LSU-Kentucky a key game unless you're betting against the
- point spread. After all, LSU couldn't beat the sixth best team in the ACC
- :)
