- The only reg I see in the FAR's that actually applies to the jumper
- says that you can't throw anything out of the plane unless "reasonable
- precautions" are taken to prevent damage to persons or property on the
- ground. I think wearing a chute satisfies that requirement. For the
- most part the tower isn't out to bust you and the regs leave a lot
- up to the pilots discretion. As a matter of principle I avoid TCA's
- and the like unless I'm IFR just so I don't have to mess with them.
- Just don't do anything blatantly stupid and you'll be fine.

- As an addendum to my last post I should have said the controllers
- I've dealt with in seattle do a good job of keeping IFR guys away
- from jump planes. It sounds like others aren't so good, and yes,
- you still have to worry about VFR flights.
