  19. |So the avalanche course was fun, but the snow conditions were too
  20. |stable.  We dug an 8' pit and found 8' of solid hard-pack snow with
  21. |no slip planes.  We didn't dig the other 6' necessary to reach the 
  22. |ground.  So we focused on sking.  The rains caused lots of cancellations,
  23. |so there were two students and one instructor ( David Beck ).
