- Yeah, the SP still runs lots of SD9's and GP9's ... I believe all of them
- have be "remanufactured" at least once. However, I think most of the "metal"
- is original, save for engine parts that wear out, wiring, etc. I have
- become so used to seeing these units on SP that I easily forget how old
- they are and how unique it is see such units in daily service. Apparently
- there is an effort to steadily get rid of these older units, so we better
- get out there and photograph them now. I recently read that SP is replacing
- GP9's with GP40's on local trains.
