- It might be pointed out that the range of AVERAGE daily temperature in the
- american plains is on the order of 100 degrees F (~55 degrees C). The total
- range is worse. It's possible that some differences in practice are due to
- the Europeans not having to deal with such extremes-- certainly in the UK
- they don't have to.
