- I just returned from CR in November, and unfortunately this train (commonly
- called the "Jungle Train") is basically history. Except for a small portion in
- the mountains which is run only as part of a tour from San Jose. I'm told that
- mudslides did the railroad in, and the government hasn't the money to rebuild.
- It seems they were more in favor in the more flexible bus for transportation.

- There was also a train that ran west from San Jose which was also ditched in
- favor of the cheaper to run buses. So as far as I was told, the only operating
- railroad in Costa Rica was the small portion in the mountains about half way
- between San Jose and Limon.
