- CN sold its RDCs to VIA Rail in 1978, as did CP. VIA retired
- most of its RDCs following the service cutbacks of Jan. 1990.
- RDCs are still used for VIA's Sudbury-White River and Victoria-
- Courtenay services. As of a year ago, VIA had 6 active, 10 stored,
- and 51 retired RDCs on the roster. BC Rail has 12 RDCs which
- operate between North Vancouver and Prince George.
