-
- Without that information, the station has no way to know if you
- really heard them, so yes, it is necessary.
-
- [Paul's excellent summary of what to include in a reception report
- deleted for brevity.]
-
- One thing that Paul didn't mention is that it's also considered good
- form to include a little information about yourself. You know,
- something like "I'm 29 years old and single, and write manuals for computer
- equipment for a living. In addition to radio, my hobbies include
- collecting music from around the world and armed robbery...." That
- sort of thing. It can also help to include some information about
- where you live, and maybe a picture postcard. This sort of
- information is probably more important for small stations, and
- especially in Latin America, it may be considered rude not to do
- so.
-
- If you really get into it, Tiare Publications has an excellent
- publication available called *Secrets of Successful QSLing*, written
- by the master of the subject, Gerry Dexter. Available from all the
- usual suspects.
