  12. Some suggestions from someone who's further down the path you're 
  13. travelling...

  15.     1.  Call Icom in CA and ask them to send you the "CI-V 
  16.         documentation"...why you don't get it with the radio is a 
  17.         mystery to me, but it's all in there (it's also free).

  19.     2.  Look in SIMTEL's <MSDOS.HAMRADIO> directory, there's at least 
  20.         one file containing code fragments to help you get started.

  22.     3.  I wasn't very happy with the BASIC program Icom sends you, 
  23.         but it does work...more or less.  I ended up copying a simple
  24.         interrupt-driven terminal program & making the mods to that
  25.         to send and receive the packets.

  27.     Sorry, but that's all the info I have right now.  My radio, all the 
  28.     code I wrote and almost everything else I own is in boxes at my 
  29.     brother's house for the next four months.  I'm in a new job where 
  30.     my 
  31.     email access is spotty and through a gateway on the other side of 
  32.     the country.  I have no ftp access here, either.
