- I have a Promatic brand flash which works very well with my 6006. It has
- the Af illuminator and will focus in almost complete darkness. It also
- bounces and swivels and has a guide number of (I think) about 100 ft.
- It has a 3 position zoom and wink light on the front which can be turned
- on when using the flash in bounce mode. My wife bought this flash for
- about $100 at a local shop, and I have never seen the brand anywhere else.
- It only works TTL or manual, but it has performed very well with the 6006
- and with a 2020 before that. The only Nikon feature it doesn't have is the
- blinking ready light (underexposure warning) which flashes on and off when
- the capacitor completely discharges. But the flash is so powerful,
- particularly in telephoto position, that it rarely matters.

- p.s. I recently bought an SB-15 for my FM and discovered that it works
- perfectly in TTL mode with the 6006, even though the SB-15 was discontinued
- years before the 6006 first entered the market. The SB-15 doesn't
- have an AF illuminator, though.
