  17. Overall, I like the camera.  I'm sure the Canon brochure details all of
  18. the advantages, so I'll just mention a few that stand out to me:
  19. - QCD
  20. - VG10
  21. - quiet operation
  22. - spotmetering
  23. - 5 focusing sensors with cross sensor in the middle
  24. - 5-segment OTF metering coupled to AF sensor
  25. - flash exp. comp. usable with any flash
  26. - interchangeable screens
  27.  
  28. Some disadvantages:
  29. - uses lithium batteries (and it's pretty hungry)
  30. - no external power booster available
  31. - can't shoot IR film
  32. - no focusing screens with manual focusing aids
  33.     (maybe Beattie will do something)
  34. - selecting AF point may be a bit unintuitive at first
  35. - flash sync could be faster
  36. - doesn't have the nice manual exposure scale of the EOS 5
