- If you hand hold a filter there is a good chance that you will not
- be able to keep it perfectly aligned with the lens axis, and then
- you run a significant danger of causing refletions which will severly
- degrade the image.

- Also, many filters cause some focus shift, and unless you can keep it constant
- you may reduce sharpness.
