- Unfortunately the Minolta X-700 does not have an explicit double
- exposure capability. Which means there is no switch which you
- can activate to expose the same frame twice or more number
- of times. (I know some cameras, such as Ricoh, have such a switch.
- More a lever actually).
-
- Advancing the film with the film release button pressed is the
- only way out. In order for this to work you MUST take up all
- the slack (by turning the rewind crank clockwise, WITHOUT
- depressing the film release button). Expose the frame for
- the first time. Then "advance" the film with the film release
- button depressed. As an additional precaution place your left
- thumb firmly over the rewind crank while you "advance".
- I am speculating that you may not have taken
- up all of the slack, which is why this method did not work for
- you.
-
- Also, take into account a slight "play" in the position of the
- frame. Your second exposure must allow for a small margin
- of positional error.
-
- Hope this helps.
