- Another positive vote for the Sigma. I have it in Canon FD mount.
- For its price it's a wonderful lens, although I haven't used any of
- the more expensive 24mm lenses. I've not noticed much curvature of
- field either. I don't think the construction is much inferior to my
- other lenses. The only problem I have with it, at least with my
- model, is that you seem to lose about 1/2 stop with the lens.
- Whereas on other lenses you might get a reading of 1/60 at f3.5, on
- this lens you may only get a reading of 1/60 at 2.8. I haven't found
- this much of a problem - but you might want to check if the Nikon
- model has the same problem.
-
- Another point is that, since Nikon AF cameras (with a few exceptions
- I understand) can still accept manual focus lenses, you can save a lot
- of money if you buy the manual focus version for Nikon. It doesn't
- make much sense to me to get an autofocus wide angle lens. The lens
- is rarely out of focus, and the depth of field scale is usually much
- more useful anyway.
