  13. Recently I had a party at my home. I shot several
  14. rolls of film with my Nikon 8008s and SB-24 combo.
  15. I shot mostly print film (Kodak Gold) and one roll
  16. of slide film (Kodachrome 200).

  18. After I got the films developed, I was quite pleased
  19. with the results of the print film and I was quite
  20. disappointed with the results of the slide film. All
  21. slides came out too dark. When I project them, I see
  22. faces that are too dark with eyes too glittery.

  24. I shot these slides during night, inside my house,
  25. using a flash. I used all automatic modes for the
  26. camera as well as the flash for this shooting (Dual
  27. program, Matrix metering for the camera and TTL Auto
  28. for the flash).

  30. I am thinking about why the slides came out bad along
  31. these lines:

  33. 1. Even though prints came out well, my camera meter
  34. may need calibration. The printing process may be
  35. masking the problem in the camera meter. But I doubt
  36. if this is the reason because the slides I took in
  37. day light with this camera in auto mode came out
  38. perfectly exposed.

  40. 2. I may have to use some kind of camera/flash compensation
  41. when I use slide film with flash.

  43. 3. The slide film is not developed right. But this
  44. is the second time that I got bad slides with flash.
  45. It will be too much of a coincidence if this is true.

  47. 4. Kodachrome may not be the right type of slide film
  48. for flash photography. I may have to use different type
  49. of slide film.

  51. 5. Slide film is not too great for flash photography.
  52. Just be happy with prints when using flash.
