- I've been reading rpd for a few months now, but this is my first posting. I've
- enjoyed the wealth of information displayed here (I guess "dittoes" isn't the
- proper term :) )
-
- Freddie, my 9-month old yellow lab, has been on Science Diet Canine Growth
- since June. In December she began to get kind of bored by it, so I have
- been giving her equal amounts of Science Diet/Purina Puppy/Cycle Puppy.
- (About 6 cups a day total.) She cleans her bowl (two meals a day) most days,
- but has seemed awfully itchy lately. I'm wondering if it's the change in diet
- (SD is very high in fat) or just the cold, dry weather here in northern New
- York state (near Canada). My hands have been really dry lately too.
- The vet suggested some capsules of fatty acid, vitamin E, etc., which I am
- giving her. I followed the "Purina & other food string" last month,
- but I forget if this was covered. Any thoughts?
-
- P.S. Vet is thinking of recommending Purina Hi-Pro Puppy (SP?) along with
- SD. He sells only SD now.
