- Hello Dog People:
-
- My dog who recently learned to go up and down stairs has
- occasionally become very tentative going down the hardwood
- stairs at home.
-
- I finally noticed that it's because her nails are too long
- (my fault). The last motion of her back feet before she
- lifts them is to curl those long long toes (she's a greyhound),
- and when her nails are too long she looses traction.
-
- So if you're teaching a long-toed dog to go up and down
- stairs, you might want to make sure its nails are trimmed.
