  25. I got my bulldog when she was 5 years old and had little trouble getting
  26. her to live by my rules.  The lady who broght her to me (the previous owners
  27. employee who adopted her temporarily) told me that she would not walk on a
  28. leash.  I immeediately drove the dog to a pet store to get a collar and
  29. leash to fit.  She sat down and refused to budge until I carried her or
  30. removed the leash.  Sok.   I waited until the next moring when she wanted
  31. to go out.  I attached the leash so she had the choice of not going outside
  32. or going outside on leash.  She saw it my way.  End of problem.

  34. She also tested me to see how much she could get away with.  I found "tinkle"
  35. near her water dish.   Then one evening I caught her in mid-squat after
  36. drinking a ton of water and gave her a smack.  End of problem.

  38. The dog never loses its intelligence and abilty to learn.  Just be consistent
  39. and firm.  I use a high voice for praise and a low voice for reprimands.  
  40. Give lots of love always and enjoy the suprises and delights the dog brings.
