- As I write this, my sister is about to lose her mind. She just called me
- in a terrible panick (I'm at the office and can't join her - but I sent a
- friend to help out). She owns a 3-year old cat named Tess. Tess has
- always been a quite a bit high-strung and nervous. She won't let anyone
- approach her but my sister and growls and hisses at anyone who just LOOKS
- at her. Anyway, my sister was in the kitchen quietly carrying on with
- life, when Tess (who was in her bedroom, just hanging out in the closet
- where my sister has a little 'bed' made out for her) came crashing into
- the kitchen in a VIOLENT RAGE and ATTACKED my sister. She was growling,
- hissing, spitting, and jumping up to try and bite her face!! My sister
- was so terrified, that she soiled herself. She managed to chase Tess back
- into her closet and closed the door behind her. She immediately phoned
- the vet., who was in surgery, but promptly called her back. When she was
- on the phone with the vet (she has a cordless) she opened the closet door
- and Tess attacked her again. The vet suggested a tranquilizer to calm her
- and I assume she'll be bringing her in for a looking over (if she can
- approach her to administer the drug!).
-
- Has anyone experienced such a thing? My sister said that Tess had a look
- in her eye that was the most terrifying thing she ever saw. She was very
- upset and crying and said 'that wasn't my Tess - she seemed possessed'.
- My friend, whom I sent to help and comfort her, will be calling me as soon
- as he knows what the next plan of action is. I'm on pins and needles.
- Whenever there's a kitty in distress, I feel stressed out too.
-
- Any comments would be helpful - I'll pass them on to her.
-
- I'll let you all know what the vet recommends also. This is all so
- upsetting!!
