  19. I got my cat Max from the Humaine Society when he was a year old
  20. (it was then that he got "fixed").  Max has since adopted one of
  21. my son's teddy bears for his amour de coeur.  At first this 
  22. concerned me because I have never had a male cat who did this so
  23. I contacted the vet.  She told me that neutering a cat was no
  24. guarantee he would stop spraying since this was a "learned"
  25. behaviour and once a Tom starts spraying, he could in fact 
  26. continue.  Luckly Max only goes through the motions with his
  27. bear.  (My other cat Buster who is 9 months old -- he's getting
  28. his operation next month -- just watches Max like he's nuts and
  29. has shown no interest in the bear or any other object.)
