  28. The best form of negative reinforcement we've found is hissing.
  29. It works very well with our cats.  We used squirt bottles when
  30. they were younger.  I would NEVER hit a cat!  I try very hard
  31. not to hit our dogs, too, but I feel more strongly about not
  32. hitting cats.  When our youngest bites (when he is playing) I
  33. tap his nose, but I don't hit.
