- I'd recommend two. They will entertain each other during your absence
- (and entertain you when you're at home). I don't feel guilty leaving mine
- at home during the day inside, knowing that they are romping around the
- house having fun.

- I'd stick to the better quality dry foods (Iams, Science Diet, NutroMax, etc).
- It'll save you vet bills in the long run.

- Discipline? Hah! Actually, I've done lots of "cat reading" and cats
- do not respond to negative reinforcement. It only makes them fear their
- owners.

- Dunno anything about 'em.
-
- I'd strongly recommend adopting your cats from the local pound or SPCA.
- There's lots of them on "death row" out there just waiting for somone
- like you to come along and save them. I have 4 great cats. All but one
- came from the pound (two of 'em full grown). The one I'm most attached to
- was full grown, listed as a "stray". He started purring when I simply **looked*at him. He's the friendliest cat I've ever become acquainted with and
- it's difficult to comprehend that he was destined to be killed within 72
- hours of my finding him.
-
- Also, please neuter/spay your cat. It'll keep them a bit more mellow and
- they won't roam and get in fights as much.
-
- If you're looking for a particular kind of cat, call the SPCA and they'll
- usually have a list of what they have for adoption.
