- Although I usually don't like to even acknowledge people posting
- from aliases, there's no conflict here. Clinton's lifting the
- ban on gays in the military only effects military installations - not
- local governments. The converse is also true - the 50 year ban on
- homosexuals in the military doesn't mean that in each U.S. state that
- has a US military prescence has a ban on homosexuals in it's state
- and local governments.

- It's the Fed that decides military policy -- the state and local governments
- have no jurisdiction over what goes on in the military or it's installations.
- (That's why there are separate military police, code of justice (if you can
- call it that) and separate environmental protection rules (none) as compared
- to the state where the military post is.)
