  26. I agree with this. When my parents moved their business across town (heck, only
  27. 10 miles for goodness sakes), their employees were up in arms compaining about
  28. the added travel distance, etc. Forget the fact that the cheaper rent would
  29. allow my folks to continue to employee the full staff v/s laying off some
  30. people. So, those who wanted to keep their jobs made the allowance and were
  31. willing to travel. Those who weren't willing are now unemployed and replaced by
  32. people who prefer to have a job.

  34. Moving across country is a bit different. However, it depends on how much it is
  35. worth to the employee.

  37. Last year I moved from TX to MA. I incurred all costs (and it was significant).
  38. But I felt that it was in the best interest of my family.

  40. In the case of a national organization, they have to do what is in the best
  41. interest of their members. Office help can ALWAYS be replaced. Sorry, nothing
  42. personal, just business. And when their expenses comes out of MY pocket, I want
  43. to be able to say something about it.

  45. Heck, large manufacturing companies move their entire facility cross country.
  46. What all does Mensa have anyway? Its an office for crying out loud. A lot of
  47. paper, some furniture and some computers. Heck, I have that in my home office
  48. and we moved 2400 miles last year. 8-)
