- If it had a big picture of the sun on it, it was probably
- Cedar Waters Village (or CWV for those of us who know and love it).
-
- They have
- - a nice pond with reasonable room to sail, canoe, fish, etc. and room to
- sun on the grass.
- - a horseshoe pit (active on the weekends), a shuffleboard court (less active),
- a basketball court (which I've never seen in use), and a swingset for the
- little ones.
- - cabins to rent, camping space, trailer hook-ups by the night, the week, etc.
- - a small chapel (yes, there are Sunday morning services, sort of)
- - a sauna
- - a small paperback library
- - they serve breakfast some days and have a snack bar by the beach open weekends
- - a clubhouse they use for potluck suppers, evening concerts, etc.
- - a variety of activities throughout the summer
- - I probably missed one or two things
-
- Restrictions
- - the usual - no alcohol, no cameras, etc.
- - more conservatively: no unpaired adults (with rare exceptions). I think
- they've relaxed their restriction about unmarried couples during the day only.
-
- My family and I go there and enjoy it very much. It is especially good for
- families who like the water and older couples. The Bonsers (Ed, Terry, Mary
- and the kids) are warm and wonderful people. They have been in business for many years and seen other places come and go and have
- come to the conclusion that, in New England at least, a measure of conservatism
- is a survival skill. Ed (Terry's father) has pretty conservative political
- views anyway.
-
- Next time you're driving by (at least between May and October :-)), it's worth
- the $18 per family for the day to check it out.
