  12. 9-pin d-connector male to 9-pin d-connector female shielded cables
  13. are available at full-service computer hardware stores, where they
  14. are sold as 1) EGA monitor extension cables, or 2) mouse extension
  15. cables.  I recently purchased one for the latter purpose at FRY'S,
  16. in Sunnyvale, California.  I just checked it for the purpose of
  17. making this statement: All 9 pins are connected straight through,
  18. and the shield is connected to each connector.
