- AT> From what I can se, there are a couple of cheap samplers new; the
- AT>Cheetah SX16 and the Akai S01. Does anyone have opinions on these?
- AT>Are they suitable for what I want? I'm going to be playing most samples
- AT>"straight", so lack of filters and so on won't be a problem. Would I
- AT>be better off going for a second hand Mirage, or S950? Thanks for any
- AT>advice, if I get any requests I'll post a summary. Cheers!

- Stay aways form the new Akai at all costs, total cheese. A few to look
- into are a used Emax SE (street price of about $700 'round here), or, if
- you have some way of performing the initial A/D conversion (read: Sound
- Blaster PRO, etc.) check into the Peavy DMP SP rack unit (comes with a
- SCSI port and uses Mac SIMMS for memory). You can use Sample Vision or
- a similar product to dump the samples into the box.
