- Didn't I just read a post where only "transcribed" or "official" lyrics get
- put into the archive? Well, after reading the file 'no_woman_no_cry', which
- was evidently transcribed from the German edition of some Marley album, I'd
- prefer to take my chances with the readers of this group. Maybe it's just me,
- but these lines seem to be in error:
-
- 'and then georgie would make a fire light
- as it was love wood burning through the night
- and we would cook wholemeal porridge...'
-
- I hear 'logwood burning through the night' (logwood being the name of a very
- important tree in Jamaica), and 'cornmeal porridge'. I also hear 'In this
- bright future, you CAN'T forget your past', whereas the Germanized lyrics say
- '...can forget your past'.
-
- T'ump mi if I'm wrong about these lyrics, but it seems like a lot better
- collection could be built by relying on the expertise of real fans...
