- I feel ill-qualified to participate in this discussion, since I
- haven't heard any of the recordings mentioned so far (Solti, Abbado,
- Rattle, Bernstein, Horenstein, etc.). But I will say that I really
- like my recording of this piece by Eliahu Inbal and the Frankfurt
- Radio Symphony. I haven't heard any of the competitors, but for me
- the Inbal is one of those "I can't imagine a better recording"
- recordings. In fact, if someone were to ask me to show them some
- great orchestral brass playing (and great first trumpet playing in
- particular), I'd without hesitation grab the Inbal recording of the
- 7th from my shelf and put on the last movement. This from the
- Frankfurt *Radio* Symphony?!!!
-
- Anyone else know this recording?
