  15.      This is a combination of first and second hand information.  
  16. I have been trying to collect Cynthia Clawson albums for a couple 
  17. of years now, but they are *very* hard to come across.  Cynthia 
  18. released several albums in either the late '70's or early'80's.  
  19. They were put out by secular labels (a couple on CBS, I believe) 
  20. but the music was definately Christian.  For one reason or another 
  21. she released no music for five years or so.  I have heard it was 
  22. due to a lean or some legal problems, but I don't really know.  I 
  23. did write to her manager one time to see if I could get any old 
  24. albums and was told that the masters were "locked in the CBS 
  25. vault".  Sounded touchy to me.  It strikes me as likely that 
  26. "Immortal" was her announcement that she was back in the game.

  28.      Anyway.  Her music in this earlier period was . . . how shall I 
  29. say it. . .   It sounded like it was released in the late '70's or early 
  30. '80's.  :-)  While it sounds very dated compared to some of her 
  31. newer stuff, there are a few really good albums with some 
  32. interesting songs.

  34.     I have managed to find three albums at used record stores or
  35. garage sales and the like.  I don't have them accessible, so I can't 
  36. give you release dates or cut titles.  Here's what I have:

  38.      In the Garden (1977 - 79?) 
  39.            All hymns.  Pretty dated, but I still enjoy it.
  40.      The Way I Feel (1980?) 
  41.           I really like this one.  The music is slower than her 
  42.           contemporary stuff, but has some well done songs.  
  43.           The theme is her spiritual journey.
  44.      The Finest Hour (198?) 
  45.           A couple of songs on this have almost a country sound 
  46.           to them, if I remember correctly.  I got this one fairly 
  47.           recently and haven't listened to it much (yet).

  49.      I think there are some others out there, but don't know the 
  50. titles.  If anyone has of the album, or lead on the albums, or even 
  51. the names of the albums.  Please let me know.

  53.      Also, for those of you asking about David Maddux, First Call has 
  54. released two popular (and very good) a capella Christmas albums.  
  55. "An Evening in December"  Volumes I and II.  David Maddux either 
  56. worked on the arrangements, or actually sings on the albums.  (I'm
  57. thinking he actually sang.)   And Cynthia Clawson has a guest solo 
  58. on each one as an added bonus.  :-)  I also have an album of David 
  59. Maddux playing his own hymn arrangements, called "Hymnpressions." 
  60. You'll like it if you like George Winston style piano.

  62.      Well I've just about purged myself of every last detail of 
  63. Clawson/Maddux info I have.  If anyone else has any more info, please 
  64. post.  Esp. album title and concert info.
