  16. I'd agree that Jazziz is in that bag (very commercial jazz), but I think
  17. Jazz Times is not so much commercial as conservative: strongest on
  18. bop/neobop/pre-Trane jazz. Besides, Jazz Times has these great
  19. trivia contests every month, focusing on one artist. If you are one of 
  20. the first 25 to get 17 of the 20 questions right, you get a free CD
  21. from a new release by that artist (obviously, the artist they focus on
  22. is in the hands of the record companies that give them the CDs). So
  23. far I've been 3 for 3 on the ones I was interested enough in to
  24. have a lot of the trivia wasting my synapses (McCoy Tyner, Sonny Rollins,
  25. and Elvin Jones). So I figure I'm making a profit on the subscription :-)
