- Allright. Obviously a few people came in late, so here's a recap:
- Macca released a single to dance clubs in Britain, called "Deliverance",
- which is a techno remix of all the tracks on the upcoming album,
- "Off the Ground", due out Feb 9. He did it as a lark, but within less
- than a week it was #9 on the Dance charts. Only five hundred were pressed,
- and due to their scarcity they're pretty much sold out, in high demand,
- and causing the rest of us to complain and hold our collective breaths
- until they give a second pressing(preferably much larger).
- As for Hope of Deliverance, the cassette single came out this week,
- and most people don't even know of its existence, hence there are few
- sales. The CD single was delayed for release, officially, for domestic
- US until next week(or this week, the week of Jan 24th, at any rate).
- I just happened to get it early because I go to a store that doesn't
- care about official anything and wanted to get all the early buyers,
- so I have it: it contains four tracks: Hope of Deliverance, Long Leather
- Coat(both on the cassette) and Big Boys Bickering, and Kicked Around No
- More(only on CD). Only Hope of Deliverance is from "Off The Ground".
- The rest are extras. Otherwise, the import versions are out there already.
- And at least in Rochester New York, they aren't playing the song because
- it doesn't fit their demographics(female, ages 18 to 24). This is what
- a DJ told me from when he asked his manager, trying to fulfill a request
- earlier in the evening than mine for the song. Personally, this is
- ludicrous! You'd be hard pressed to find a song girls would like more,
- I should think- It's very romantic, very beautiful. So far I've gotten
- four girls between the ages of 18 and 24(grin) to call the station and
- request the song, going for more soon. Wish me luck!
