- For Sun Ra (and the other stuff, too, possibly) look at
- rec.music.bluenote, the Jazz-Blues-Etc group.
-
- For reggae, there's the new rec.music.reggae
-
- As for Sun Ra, I recommend checking the new Evidence label releases,
- which are excellent re-issues of late 50's and early 50's stuff from
- the El Saturn label. The one I already bought (VISITS PLANET EARTH/
- INTERSTELLAR LOW WAYS) is superb. From what I hear, so are all the
- others.
-
- By the way, yesterday I got the new catalog from Wayside and they list
- all these new Sun Ra's at $12.50 a piece, plus they have the two
- recent out-of-print A&M's (PURPLE NIGHT and BLUE DELIGHT) for maybe
- $8. (I prefer BD to PN, in case you're wondering.) Write them for a
- free catalog, they are a good outfit, even though they concentrate
- mostly on art rock/avant garde jazz:
