  13. Hello there! Having sold my Shadow 700 last October I've
  14. been oogling at new bikes and used bikes for my NB(tm).
  15. Funds being what they are I cannot follow in the footsteps
  16. of fellow NEDoD'ers and buy a new VFR750, as much as I'd
  17. like to. Congrats Scott and Dean!

  19. I've found a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ550 in decent shape. It
  20. not only fits my budget but also satisfies my need for
  21. a sportier bike than I had. I saw it last night and will
  22. test ride it next week. If the test ride goes without
  23. bad surprises and barring any scathing reviews from
  24. the net, I'll make an offer.

  26. My questions to those familiar with the GPZ550:
  27.     1. Do any problems plague this model in general
  28.        or your GPZ specifically?
  29.     2. How did it/you fare on medium/long trips?
  30.        I hope to make the RCR again this year,
  31.        MA->WV->MA, on this bike. Probably ~300 mile
  32.        days.
  33.     3. What kind of seat/saddle/tank bags have
  34.        you used on the GPZ550? Does the gas tank
  35.        mounted console prohibit tank bags? 
  36.     4. With 14,500 miles does $1500 asking
  37.        price sound ok? All it needs is new tires.
  38.        Tire recommendations?
  39.     5. Other relevant info appreciated.
