- My motorcycle was stolen yesterday from my garage. I had a U-lock on and the
- handle bar locked to one side. The bike, 90 CBR600, weighed ~450 lbs and the
- thieves simply dragged it out into the open then loaded it up into a truck
- and drove away. You can see drag marks all over the garage. No sign of atempt
- to cut the U-lock. They left the lock on the bike and dealt with it later.
- The only thing that would have slowed them down was to lock my bike to
- something permanent. Since my apt. complex garage wall is all concrete, there
- was nothing to lock it to. Even if I had the COBRA lock on, the thieves would
- have done the same thing to steal my bike. So my conclusion is neither U-lock
- nor COBRA lock would have done me any good.
